This hotel located in Niagara Falls was undergoing a complete renovation of its main ballroom and had an issue with noise transmitting through the floor to the guest rooms located directly above this area when music from DJ's or bands played in the ballroom.

They needed a solution to reduce the sound transmission to the guest rooms.   After researching ways to control the sound it was determined that 1/2 lb. Open-Cell Sprayed Polyurethane Foam (SPF) sprayed 4" thick in a continuous application to the underside of the ceiling was the best solution to the sound problems.  A white Intumescent Thermal Barrier was applied over the foam to provide the required 15-Minute "fire" protection as required by the NYS Building Codes.  Once the foam and coating application was completed a new drop ceiling was installed.

Per the owner, "This foam application reduced the sound so much that we no longer have customer complaints for noise".
