Aquarium of Niagara - Niagara Falls, NY
The Aquarium of Niagara, located in Niagara Falls, NY had a roof with NO insulation on the dome and their energy bills literally were through the roof!
The lack of insulation caused additional problems within the structure, mainly condensation on the interior that was dripping on their visitors and destroying the interior ceiling of the building.
After consideable research, they ultimately chose United Thermal Systems to apply a Spray-applied foam and coatings roofing system manufactured by Lapolla Systems foam and General Electric Corp. silicone coatings.
The foam was able to provide the much needed insulation and was able to follow the contour of the roof with a seamless application of foam and coatings. This was extremely important to the Aquarium as the structure is a landmark building in Niagara Falls and wanted to retain its unique design.
The Aquiarium was extremely happy with the end result of their new roofing system and is looking forward to a considearble reduction in their heating costs this winter as well as a lack of complaints from visitors about water dripping on their heads.
